Hair & Makeup

Your dancer’s costume, hair, and makeup complete the stage-ready look and help bring the performance to life!

Preschool Academy

Ages 2-5 years

Hair

  • High ponytail (top of the crown of the head)

  • Optional - curl the hair

Makeup

  • Pink blush on the cheeks

  • If you don't own blush, no worries! Leave this step for us to action when your dancer comes to the theatre.

Junior Academy

Kindy - Year 2

Hair

  • Hair for our Junior Academy is a low bun with a middle part. 

  • All buns require bun pins (at least 12), elastic, and a hair net. Bun donuts are optional. 

  • For dancers with short hair who cannot put their hair in a bun, please slick back your hair into a ponytail with no part.

  • Hair must be neatly slicked with gel and hairspray (no flyaway bits, please).

  • All fringes must be gelled back off the face. 

  • Boys' hair is to be neatly styled.

Makeup

  • Pink blush and bright red lipstick.

  • Long stay/smudge proof lipstick is preferred.

Elementary, Intermediate, Senior & Advanced Academies

School Years 3 and above

Hair

  • Hair for our Elementary and above Academies is a low bun with a middle part. 

  • All buns require bun pins (at least 12), elastic, and a hair net. Bun donuts are optional. 

  • For dancers with short hair who cannot put their hair in a bun, please slick back your hair into a ponytail with no part.

  • Hair must be neatly slicked with gel and hairspray (no flyaway bits, please).

  • All fringes must be gelled back off the face. 

  • Boys' hair is to be neatly styled.

Makeup

  • Pink blush

  • Multi-colour eyeshadow - browns & gold (see tutorial for placement of colours)

  • Mascara

  • Bright red lipstick (as pictured) - do not use plum or berry coloured lipsticks. Long stay/smudge proof lipstick is preferred.

  • Optional: foundation, eyeliner, lashes.
