It's SHOWTIME!!

Show day is a bustling day full of nervous and excited energy.

Please be kind and patient as our staff and volunteers navigate getting over 150 children ready to perform on stage.

IMPORTANT

Performers are NOT ALLOWED to bring mobile phones or any kind of digital devices, including digital cameras backstage.

Please keep these items at home.

Bags will be checked at the check in desk and items confiscated if found.

Supporting your dancer on show day

Firstly, make sure your dancer has a nice early and relaxing night the evening prior to the show. Secondly, make sure your dancer has a healthy breakfast and drinks some extra water in the morning. Your support can make all the difference in helping your child feel confident and calm on show day. Encourage them with positive words, reminding them that it's all about having fun and enjoying the experience. Keep the atmosphere light and avoid putting pressure on them to perform perfectly. Being on time and prepared will help ease nervousness. Most importantly, let your child know how proud you are of them for being part of the special day!

Preschool Academy

Preschool Academy Show Day Process:

Check the traffic conditions first thing in the morning. As it's a Saturday on the North Shore, traffic can get very busy. Plan your leave time accordingly.
Early arrival at the theatre is crucial to allow for parking time and getting to the check in point.
Please check in at the drop-off point next to the lifts to ensure a smooth start to the day.
Your child will be in good hands. They will be escorted to our side stage waiting area where our dedicated teachers and staff will be warming them up and keeping a close eye on them. They will participate in some of their regular class songs/exercises to help them settle in.
You can then proceed upstairs to the theatre lobby and enjoy a snack, beverage and some social time before the show.
The show will begin, and your dancer will perform on stage within the first few routines.
After performing, they will remain side stage and be given their performance gift bag by one of our staff.
Miss Jess will make a special appearance on stage, and the theatre house lights will be turned on when we escort your dancer into the audience to enjoy the rest of the show with you. This is your cue to stand up and move to the end of your row so your child can easily find you. If there won't be a parent/guardian in the audience watching, please inform us BEFORE the show.
Please take a moment to tell your dancer how proud you are of them and celebrate their win for getting up on stage and performing (even if they didn't end up doing many steps). It takes bravery and courage to perform, and they should be recognised for it.
You can then choose to stay and watch the rest of the show or leave at the interval. Please do not exit the theatre while any routines are being performed on stage.

Preschool Side Note

We want to remind you that every child experiences the stage in their own unique way. While some preschoolers may embrace the moment, dancing confidently in front of the audience, others may choose to take in the experience more quietly, perhaps not moving as much or simply observing. Both responses are perfectly natural at this age. Our goal is to create a positive, pressure-free environment where your child feels comfortable and supported, no matter how they choose to participate. We celebrate their individuality and are proud of them for being part of this special event.

Junior Academy

(Kindy, year 1 & 2)

Junior Academy Show Day Process:

Check the traffic conditions first thing in the morning. As it's a Saturday on the North Shore, traffic can get very busy. Plan your leave time accordingly.
Early arrival at the theatre is crucial to allow for parking time and getting to the check in point. This sets the tone for a smooth start to the day for your performer.
Please check in at the drop-off point next to the lifts. Ensure your dancer has everything they need, including snacks, a water bottle, and all of their costume items and dance shoes.
Your child will be in good hands. They will be escorted to their dressing room where our dedicated teachers and staff will be warming them up and keeping an eye on them during their time backstage.
You can then proceed upstairs to the theatre lobby and enjoy a snack, beverage and some social time before the show.
The show will begin, and your dancer will perform on stage.
After performing, they will return to their dressing room to change into their next costume or stay there until pick up time.
After the show, please have one parent line up at the pick-up area. When you arrive at the front of the line, your dancer will be brought to the stage door to be picked up.
Please take a moment to tell your dancer how proud you are of them and celebrate their win for getting up on stage and performing. It takes bravery and courage to perform, and they should be recognised for it.

Elementary+ AcademIEs

(School years 3 and up)

Elementary, Intermediate, Senior & Advanced Academies Show Day Process:

Check the traffic conditions first thing in the morning. As it's a Saturday on the North Shore, traffic can get very busy. Plan your leave time accordingly.
Early arrival at the theatre is crucial to allow for parking time and getting to the check in point. This sets the tone for a smooth start to the day.
Please check in at the drop-off point next to the lifts. Ensure your dancer has everything they need, including a packed meal, snacks, a water bottle, and all their costume items and dance shoes.
Dancers are NOT allowed to leave the backstage area between shows and we cannot deliver anything to anyone so please make sure they have everything.
Your child will be in good hands. They will be guided to their dressing room where our dedicated teachers and staff will be warming them up and keeping an eye on them while they are backstage.
You can then proceed upstairs to the theatre lobby and enjoy a snack, beverage and some social time before the show.
The show will begin, and your dancer will perform on stage.
After performing, they will return to their dressing room to change into their next costume or stay there until their next performance time or pick-up time.
After the second show (Show B), please have one parent line up at the pick-up area. When you arrive at the front of the line, your dancer will be brought to the stage door to be picked up.
We kindly ask for patience at this pick-up time as we will have close to 150 dancers being picked up and want to make sure that everyone safely gets to a parent/guardian.
